Things I watched

London has Fallen

Year:
2016
What did I think of it?:

After having survived a complete demolition of Washington DC, now the main characters are going to withstand a complete demolition of London.

There were lots of explosions when the action starts, which is rather cool, but the plot is unreal. Our superman super hero is an amazing man of steel, and is able to dodge the bullets of dozens of terrorists with machine guns.

Point Break

Year:
2015
What did I think of it?:

Well, while it added nothing to the original Point Break (I've been told it's wasn't a remake, but hey, you got some previous thrill seeker going federal going undercover with some other thrill seekers -> sounds like a remake), the filming was quite, errrrm, dynamic and actually showed some really good action.

I liked it.

Hot Bot

Year:
2016
What did I think of it?:

Two geeks and a beautiful woman... sounds like Weird Science, right?

Not so. In this case, two wanking geeks stumble across a beautiful sex robot, and probably having sex for the first time.

I write 'probably', because I only could withstand this rubbish for about 30 minutes. That first half hour were full of bad acting and bad story.

The female 'main sex robot' does everything from preventing to show herself naked, which is a bummer, especially for geeks who chose this film to see some nudity.

Bummer.

Daddy's Home

Year:
2015
What did I think of it?:

I really like movies with Mark Wahlberg, and think they're all very good, even the bad ones.

So I like this one as well. I even find it hilarious. The combination of Wahlberg and Ferrell is a successful one, just like they did back in 2010 (The Other Guys).

On one hand there's Wahlberg, the perfect and cool dad, on the other hand there's Ferrell, a soft pussy, resulting in some real macho situations.

And let's not forget about Linda Cardellini, wow. She has the potential to make any bad movie good.

Zoombies

Year:
2016
What did I think of it?:

Well, we already have our share of zombie movies and series, good ones, like The Walking Dead, and bad ones, like World War Z (actually, I read the book, and after that the movie became bad, it was quite amusing).

This movie falls within the latter category (for those who lost me: it's bad!).

This movie contains zombie monkeys, zombie giraffes, zombie lions, zombie ducks, zombie koalas, and they're all attacking humans, and they're all looking crappy (as proof, wait until you see the CGI elephants).
Furthermore, I like my zombies to be slow, but these m*therf*ckers are very, very fast.

Ow, and almost bulletproof.

Gods of Egypt

Year:
2016
What did I think of it?:

An epos where one god teams up with a mortal. The god wants another god dead, and the mortal wants his dead love of his life alive again.

Kind of a flaky story, if you ask me, and the computer generated imagery is bad as well.

I expected more of this.

The Age of Adeline

Year:
2015
What did I think of it?:

This movie is about a young woman, who doesn't age, due to an accident, and some incredible change in her body (of which the theory is not to be 'invented' before 2035).

Adeline does everything to avoid her secret to be discovered, and therefore she also does not want to be romantically involved with anyone.
If the protagonist would be male, this movie would be entirely different, but now no ones feelings are being hurt, although it seems, when the past catches up.

This movie kept my attention till the end, because it has all good ingredients: drama, romance, humor, fantasy, and even some action (I might add that I'm not a drama lover)

I liked it!

By the Sea

Year:
2015
What did I think of it?:

If you not already hated Angelina Jolie (like I did), you're going to after watching this movie.

There's Brad, trying to have sex with his wife, and Angelina, his wife, trying to avoid that at all costs. Not sure why Brad wants that, because Angelina Jolie (Jolie means 'beautiful' in French) looks like a walking corpse (although Brad probably will disagree). Brad does a decent job in acting, but the real show is for his female neighbor, which looks like a real 70's girl (short skirts, long legs).

So this movie is about two people having a bad marriage, and it's kinda boring to look at. I watched it till the end just to get some more glimpses of the neighbor woman.
