Sniper: Special Ops

Year:
2016
What did I think of it?:

So what you do do when you're actually to fat and old to be a convincing special ops sniper?

Exactly: you cast the other special ops team members to be even fatter and older. Except for the 'beautiful lady'.

My advice: skip this one.

Criminal

What did I think of it?:

What a great movie! It has been a while that I have seen a movie with all ingredients in the right place: plot, action, cast!

The memory of a dead CIA agent is implanted in a criminal on death row, and one hopes that this memory will help to prevent some major catastrophe.

If you like secret agent movies, like I do, you really should see this one.

The Jungle Book

Year:
2016
What did I think of it?:

I just saw this movie, and I thought the CGI was magnificent, the voices were cast perfectly, especially Bill Murray as Baloo, but I'm unsure of the movies' audience.

While there are scenes that are way too frightening for children, the movie is too childish for adults, because of the singing. I really liked the original animated movie (the audience was clear back then), and I even like this one, but for me, it could have done without the singing.

10 Cloverfield Lane

Year:
2016
What did I think of it?:

I saw this movie with absolute no expectation (except the possible link to the 2008 movie Cloverfield, and the trailers I had seen on television).

I have to say that this movie is absolute the bomb, Goodman is a great actor, and the suspense is being built from the first second, without absolutely no clue what's going on in the outside world, except what Goodman is telling us, from within his shelter. Is it true, or isn't it true?

All that suspense is gone, the moment the woman steps out of that shelter (which is approximately the last 15 minutes of the movie) and breaks it down completely. Without that part, I would given it an 8!

Backtrack

Year:
2015
What did I think of it?:

From the description of this movie I learned that a psychologist talks to dead people... where did I hear that before?

It's completely different, however, and during the movie you'll discover that this man has some unresolved ghosts from the past.

Nice movie, it's a slow movie, but nicely told.

The Age of Adeline

Year:
2015
What did I think of it?:

This movie is about a young woman, who doesn't age, due to an accident, and some incredible change in her body (of which the theory is not to be 'invented' before 2035).

Adeline does everything to avoid her secret to be discovered, and therefore she also does not want to be romantically involved with anyone.
If the protagonist would be male, this movie would be entirely different, but now no ones feelings are being hurt, although it seems, when the past catches up.

This movie kept my attention till the end, because it has all good ingredients: drama, romance, humor, fantasy, and even some action (I might add that I'm not a drama lover)

I liked it!

By the Sea

Year:
2015
What did I think of it?:

If you not already hated Angelina Jolie (like I did), you're going to after watching this movie.

There's Brad, trying to have sex with his wife, and Angelina, his wife, trying to avoid that at all costs. Not sure why Brad wants that, because Angelina Jolie (Jolie means 'beautiful' in French) looks like a walking corpse (although Brad probably will disagree). Brad does a decent job in acting, but the real show is for his female neighbor, which looks like a real 70's girl (short skirts, long legs).

So this movie is about two people having a bad marriage, and it's kinda boring to look at. I watched it till the end just to get some more glimpses of the neighbor woman.
